In early 2003 our founder, Charles Lazzara, was living in Italy; studying wine and the Italian language. It was during this six month stay that he realized his passion for wine; the history in each bottle and the people that make it. In December of 2006 Charles began networking with distributors around the country, getting in touch with friends in the industry and researching the market to find a good fit.
Volio was created on a set of guiding principles meant to lay a foundation for success and build trust with both suppliers and buyers:
