Château Roumieu Lacoste
Belonging to Hervé Dubourdieu, Roumieu-Lacoste is a Cru Bourgeois from Barsac and offers elegant, ethereal and decadent dessert wines. Sauternes and Barsac are where the Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle grapes are perfectly concentrated by noble rot.
This 12 hectare vineyard in the heart of the chalky-clay Barsac region was acquired around 1900. It is planted with 84% Sémillon grapes, 13% Muscadelle, and 3% Sauvignon Blanc. The quality of the soils and their complementary nature, careful tending of the wines, light manuring, careful pruning, and picking only when noble rot has set in all contribute to the unique character of the wines of Château Roûmieu-Lacoste.
