WINES FROM LE PIGEOULET EN PROVENCE
ABOUT LE PIGEOULET EN PROVENCE
The name Le Pigoulet is Provençal for “little one,” a name the Bruniers feel is appropriate to the friendliness and drinkability of their red and white table wine from grapes grown in the Vaucluse near Beaumes de Venise. They provide a welcome contrast to the robust, stony structure of their celebrated Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape.A small parcel of vines in the southern Vaucluse that have been the source of what Daniel Brunier and his brother Frederic call their Pigeoulet. It's a striking vineyard, south of Beaume de Venise, on a rocky knoll facing due south, ideal for ripening Grenache. Pigeoulet just got the attention of The Wine Spectator and was one of the few Rhône wines listed in their latest issue of "Great Values”
