ABOUT CUPANOLionel Cousin, born in Cognac France, has adopted the French traditional ways for vine growing (followed by Carlo Ferrini) and for its vinification.
The vines disposed in "ritocchino" are aligned 2 meters x 0,80,
with a total of 6250 plants per hectare; the cord is 50 cm high from the ground and in the wine cellar are used only French barriques.
Natural fertilizers , treatments for "poltiglia bordolese" and sulfur, bio-dynamic preparations, watching for favorable days for agricultural operations, ensure the good state of the plants and optimal success of the wine making process.
The yields are variable, usually reduced a lot because every grape - or part of - not perfectly healthy or mature, is eliminated.
