WINES FROM AZIENDA AGRICOLA RIVETTO

ABOUT AZIENDA AGRICOLA RIVETTO

The history of the Rivetto family starts at the end of the nineteenth century in a grocery-baker’s-salami shop in a small village near Asti. Great-grandpa Giovanni was an avid wine-lover, and 25-30 km away discovered the hills of the Langhe. With his sons Nando, an expert of wines, and Ercole, with his intuitions and professional skills, they settled in the old center of the town of Alba, and rented an old cellar from a man without sons.

In 1921 they started their commercial winemaking legacy. Nearly 40 years later, in 1939, Ercole, the family’s patriarch, secured the winery’s future when he purchased the Loirano estate. The estate sits 400 metres above sea level, occupying 89 acres that face the spectacular Serralunga d’Alba Castle and the charmingly picturesque village of Sinio.

Today brother’s Alessandro and Enrico integrate evolving technology, tradition, the region’s fertile soils and quality grapes into incredible wines. With vineyard purchases in the Serralunga d’Alba the family’s legacy continues to grow.

These selections are some of their most personal expressions of their family heritage and winemaking philosophy. Each one richly displays their strive for excellence and the vineyards sense of place as perfect compliments.
