Peteglia was founded in 1989. The company‘s production reflects the classic Tuscany tradition, born as a cereal and livestock holdings farm, present day its complemented with other activity: viticulture, olive tree cultivation and holiday farm.
The production area extends at the end of the small village of Montenero d’Orcia, that creates favourable microclimate conditions for cultivation of grapes. Added to the barrier effect exerted by Monte Amiata that create a kind of natural protection against particular intensity of weather events.
The vineyard (5 hectar) are planted primarily to Sangiovese, Vermentino and Cabernet Sauvignon, all trained to cordon spurred and guyot; and were designed based on agronomic characteristics of land and on this basis were selected rootstocks and Sangiovese and Vermentino clones most suitable.
